Our Staff and Volunteers
The story of Mercy Phoenix begins in Atlanta, Georgia with a couple, Wes and Steff Stanfield. Their hearts began to see the ugliness of injustice and the amount of hurting in their community of those living in the margins.
"The family," as they are known on the streets, along with the donations of loving supporters, give weekly to Mercy Phoenix.
Our History
After many years of love for those in the margins, one Sunday in June of 2016, Wes and Steff, along with their two children, decided to take 5 lunch sacks to people on the streets.
Our Mission
Mercy Phoenix is more than lunch sacks; it's LIVING community. Mercy Phoenix is dedicated to loving one another and bringing dignity to those who call the streets home.

Giving Tuesday
Every act of generosity counts, and each means even more when we give together. #GivingTuesday includes people of all ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds. Together, millions of people demonstrate our common capacity to give.
In a single night in the U.S., there are over half a million people homeless; 35% of those were unsheltered reported by HUD in January 2017. In Arizona, 37,000 people experienced homeless and 54% of those reside in Maricopa County (Phoenix) alone. Temperatures here during the summer will reach upward of 120 degrees and there are not enough beds for everyone to have shelter. Our city is quite large: 6th largest in the country. Most of the help and aid for those who need it is located in downtown Phoenix, but there is a large community of homeless in the north valley without any access to facilities or services. A group of people have gathered together, not to serve our city but to be actively apart of our community, build relationships, and help meet the need of our brothers and sisters on the streets. Mercy Phoenix is a collaborate effort to see true justice, mercy, and community lived out.
